Mission: Yurni is a globally inspired yogurt brand created to celebrate cultural exploration through flavor. Designed for curious, adventurous eaters, it turns everyday snacking into a chance to discover the world. Born as a personal passion project, Yurni set out to connect people to different cultures—one spoonful at a time. With bold, story-rich flavors but no visual identity in place, the mission was clear: craft a brand that could bring its joyful, travel-inspired concept to life.

A Yogurt That Takes You Places

The hero flavors—each from a unique destination. Mexico and Italy were non-negotiables, as I have personal connections to these places. I filled in the rest with places and ingredients that felt just exotic enough to spark curiosity.

The Bar-Tailed Godwit,

a bird known for flying over 7,000 miles without stopping. What better metaphor for a flavor adventure? The bird evolved into the brand’s logo and even doubled as a passport stamp-inspired design element used on packaging and collateral

Drawing inspiration from vintage travel posters, custom illustrations were created for each flavor, — designed not only to tell a story, but to fit perfectly on a yogurt cup.

I Wanna Try That!

Though Yurni is still a conceptual brand (for now!), the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. Everyone who’s seen the project—designers, friends, and yogurt lovers alike—has had the same response: “Wait, I want to try that.” The Lavender Honey flavor in particular seemed to strike a chord, both for its dreamy packaging and its unusual, enticing flavor profile.
 
Yurni was more than just a branding exercise—it was a reminder of what great design can do. It can spark curiosity. It can connect people to stories and places. And it can turn even the most everyday product into something worth getting excited about. This project let me stretch creatively, have fun with every step, and craft a brand that truly goes the distance.
